Nicely Made in China’s (NMiC) latest partner is the Hong Kong French bookstore Parenthèses run by Swiss-born Madeline Progin and French-born Emmanuelle Le Moing. They are both long term Hong Kong residents. We met Madeline in the bookstore, which covers 150sq.m, and is located in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong.  It beckons book-lovers to browse through the latest francophone publishers’ books, with fiction and non-fiction, french magazines and French DVDs. Josephine, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

I am a Hong Konger educated in England where I spent 13 years. After my GCSE’s and A levels, I went on to the university of Hertfordshire where I earned a degree in Business Administration. I returned to Hong Kong in 2004 where I worked as a merchandiser in the fashion industry for 5 years before switching to the service industry. That’s when I got the idea of running my own business. I like the challenge of being an entrepreneur and I feel close to the people who rent offices from us. I love seeing my clients starting from scratch and growing.
